Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the "Cooperative Foundation" and the Fish and Marine Life Farmers Association.
The Jordan Cooperative Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding with the Fish and Marine Life Farmers Association on Tuesday, 12.04.2022. The aim is to provide assistance to cooperative societies with agricultural activities related to fish farming or marine fishing, and to members in improving the work environment and mechanism, as well as providing training and development to enhance their role in creating new job opportunities through projects implemented by cooperatives.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by Abdel Fattah Al-Shalabi, General Manager of the Cooperative Foundation, and Engineer Mohammed Shaheen, President of the Fish Farmers Association.
Under this memorandum, the Fish and Marine Life Farmers Association will provide training, consultations, and studies for cooperatives engaged in fish farming activities in collaboration with the Jordan Cooperative Foundation.
According to the memorandum, the Fish and Marine Life Farmers Association will also provide studies and consultations to cooperative societies engaged in fish-related activities and their members in cooperation with the Cooperative Foundation. Additionally, they will conduct feasibility studies for projects related to cooperatives involved in fish farming, provide training for young members of cooperatives in the fish sector and qualify them in cooperation with the Cooperative Foundation, and organize courses and seminars for cooperative societies.
Al-Shalabi said that the Cooperative Foundation, through the memorandum of understanding with the Fish and Marine Life Farmers Association, seeks to develop cooperative societies related to fish farming activities, alongside its ongoing role in working to spread cooperative culture and thought in local communities.He emphasized that the Cooperative Foundation adopts a methodology based on the importance of raising the capacities of cooperatives and their members through continuous training and development, indicating that the memorandum of understanding serves this by providing training opportunities for cooperative societies engaged in fish farming and their cooperative members.Al-Shalabi pointed to the need to work on strengthening the partnership between the Cooperative Foundation and the Fish and Marine Life Farmers Association in the future, noting the importance of the association joining the International Fishing Alliance, which includes the Cooperative Foundation from Jordan along with two cooperative societies in its membership.
Al-Shalabi expressed the Cooperative Foundation's readiness to facilitate the procedures for the Fish Farmers Association to join the International Fishing Alliance through existing communication channels between the Foundation and the Alliance.For his part, Shaheen emphasized the importance of the existing cooperation between the Cooperative Foundation and the Fish Farmers Association through the memorandum of understanding, under which the association will work to provide many training and consulting services to cooperative societies engaged in fish farming.He said that the association possesses expertise that qualifies it to transfer to cooperatives in a way that serves their projects in the field of fish farming, pointing at the same time to the need to build on the existing cooperation between the Foundation and the Association.
Shaheen expressed the desire of the Fish and Marine Life Farmers Association to join the International Fishing Alliance in response to the invitation of the Cooperative Foundation, which expressed its readiness to facilitate the procedures for the association to join the alliance.
